Undergraduate Students’ Seminar on ‘Art History’

 

The 2nd undergraduate seminar on Art History was held on the 10th and 11th of May 2021. The Art History Honours students from the 2018 batch presented their final-year dissertation research virtually. The audience included current students in Art Historyand members of the larger public. Discussion on the presentations was held. Seven papers with a focus on local issues in Art History were presented at two online sessions.

S. Soorya delivered her research findings on “Fan fare and social changes in Jaffna through MGR films”
S. Vithusha delivered her research findings on “Aesthetics of American Missionary churches in Jaffna”
 
M. Kanuya delivered her research findings on “Vaddukoddai Wooden work Paddadai & Art works”
 
N. Farhana delivered her research findings on “Beauty of Faith: Church Paintings in Jaffna”
 

Undergraduate First Students’ Seminar on ‘Art History’

 

The first undergraduate seminar on Art History was held on the  2019. The Art History Honours students from the 2016 batch presented their final-year dissertation research physically with the current students in Art History. Discussion on the presentations was held. Six papers were presented one day session.
