MoUs

MOU between the Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art Sri Lanka and the Department of Fine Arts, University of Jaffna signed on 20 October 2022.

The Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art Sri Lanka and the Fine Arts Department of the University of Jaffna have been partnering in a wide variety of education initiatives, including exhibition tours, guest lectures, and the internship programme for final year students of the Department since December 2019. This MoU formalizes an established partnership, and is entered into with the intention of facilitating future joint initiatives and collaborative projects between the Fine Arts Department of the University of Jaffna and the Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art Sri Lanka. This MoU fronts an enhanced cooperation between the two institutions extending to all areas of mutual interest, shared knowledge and expertise, and research and scholarship across a wide range of initiatives and/or activities related, but not limited to the visual arts, architecture and design, photography and the moving image. The partners also agree to share resources and spaces when required as a support structure for collaborative projects. These support structures will be decided upon collaboratively, taking into consideration individual capacities.


The broad objectives of this MoU are:

  • * Exchange of academic staff, students, researchers, artists, and other professionals for the planning and implementation of visiting lectures, curriculum research and development, research initiatives, internship and training programmes, and curatorial research and exhibitions (where relevant).
  • * Strengthening academic and research potentials through joint research initiatives, teaching, internship programmes, training programmes, symposiums, conferences, workshops, and other such activities.

MOU between the Goethe-Institute Sri Lanka and the Department of Fine Arts, University of Jaffna signed on 29 September 2022.  

The Goethe-Institute Sri Lanka and the Department of Fine Arts, University of Jaffna have been partnering in a wide variety of cultural exchange programs in the fields of visual arts, drama, dance, music, film, debates and photography since 2013. This MoU is to formalize this growing partnership and encourage further joint initiatives and collaborative projects between the two entities. The Goethe-Institute will continue to bring experts, professionals and recognized artists from Germany and the South-Asian region to Jaffna and the partners agree to share resources, space and expertise for these collaborative projects according their abilities.
