Heritage: Shifting Ground
The exhibition Heritage: Shifting Ground was curated as part of the Curatorial Practice unit by Level IV Art History students of the University of Jaffna. R. Jasotharan, Y. Piriyatharsini, S. Kamsini, R. Sujeewakumar, and T. Dilaksan curated the exhibition under the curatorial guidance of course teacher S. Kirubalini. The exhibition explores the shifts and transformations in the heritage in both Jaffna and the Tamil diaspora. Through installations, paintings, book art, documentary, and photography, the exhibition reflects on how heritage is continually reinterpreted and contested. Featured artists include M. Kanagasabai, Pradeep Thalawatta, Mano Prashath, Daniel Catharina, T. Kirishnapriya, Nina Mangalanayam, S. Sarmaila, K. Pirainila, Tharan, and T. Tilaxan. The exhibition was held from 22nd to 26th April 2025 in the Art gallery of the Fine Arts Department.
