Students’ Collaborations

Neighbors,” a show of collaboration of students at LUMS, 2025.

Three Level III Honours Art History students from the University of Jaffna participated in an eight-week online collaborative project involving eight teams from six South Asian countries, including students and young creative professionals from LUMS (Pakistan), Royal Thimphu College (Bhutan), Department of Fine Arts and Linguistics and English Language Department the University of Jaffna (Sri Lanka), independent artists in Goa and Dhaka, Tribhuvan University (Nepal), and BUITEMS University (Quetta). The project formed part of the course South Asia From The Margins: Culture and Art Education Across Distant Neighbors, offered by the Syed Ahsan Ali and Syed Maratib Ali School of Education at Lahore University of Management Sciences. This collaboration created a vibrant digital space for exchanging research, ideas, humour, and greetings—Salam, Ayubowan, Namaste, Vanakkam, Kuzuzangpo la—fostering cross-border friendships and interdisciplinary dialogue. It concluded with the Neighbours exhibition on 10 December 2025 at LUMS, Pakistan.

A group proposal submitted by the final year Art History students of Department of Fine Arts was accepted and their playlist was tuned in to at the Sri Lanka Design Festival, 2021, Colombo.

This event was apart of the ‘Sri Lanka Design Festival, 2021,’ held in Colombo from 15-17 January 2021. A series of playlist conceived by the Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art, Sri Lanka in collaboration with artists, designers, curators, art historian and art organisations in Sri Lanka was tuned in this festival.

Ms. K. Kanuja, Mr. S. Pakkiyaraj, Ms. S. Vithusa, Mr. V.Rukshana, Mr. M. Piratheep, Ms. S. Suriya, Mr. Y. Nishanthan and Ms. N. Farhana participated in the event from the Department of Fine Arts.
